Nick Canterucci – Pyjamarama
In the summer of 2010, as the Bellatrix project was finishing up, Nick Canterucci decided to try something “180% different from his previous works”.
Canterucci ended up doing a series of crude American folk art under the guise of William S. Paley, mirroring what many artists have done in the past by creating different bodies of art under a pseudonym. Nick then began to detach himself from these works and push the envelope even further by displaying them on various telephone poles through the Cooper-Young area, although many of them disappeared almost immediately as people continued to take them.
Pyjamarama is the result of that action.
